Projek 'Bail-Out' Mahathir Beban Kewangan Negara

Bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad sebelum ini sering diraikan sebagai arkitek pemodenan ekonomi Malaysia yang membawa negara daripada ekonomi berasaskan komoditi kepada kuasa perindustrian serantau. Namun di sebalik pencapaian itu, pentadbirannya turut memperlihatkan budaya 'bail-out' melibatkan Bank Bumiputra, Perwaja Steel, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) dan Renong-UEM. Peristiwa-peristiwa itu mempunyai corak yang sama apabila syarikat berkaitan kroni politik mengalami kegagalan akibat salah urus atau menghadapi risiko besar sebelum kerajaan menggunakan wang awam untuk menyelamatkannya. A Movement That Never Outgrew One Man

The most revealing fact about Syed Saddiq's 2026 has nothing to do with the Federal Court: in the Johor state election, MUDA contested four seats and lost all four, forfeiting its deposits in every one. Johor is his home state; Muar, his seat, sits inside it. The party he co-founded could not persuade enough voters in his own heartland to clear the eight-percent threshold. He was not on the campaign trail, having stepped aside so his trial would not become the party's albatross. That was defensible, arguably honourable, and also an accidental experiment. The result is brutal. Remove Syed Saddiq from MUDA and there is very little left that voters can identify. Analysts warned about this long before the wipeout: MUDA risked becoming a party built around an individual rather than a collective, and if the founder's prominence could not be replicated, its momentum would not survive contact with GE16.
