Bekas Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad baru-baru ini menubuhkan satu gerakan baharu yang dinamakan sebagai Sekretariat Orang Melayu. Gerakan itu ditubuhkan kononnya bagi menyatukan semua pihak yang memperjuangkan nasib orang Melayu di bawah satu payung besar. Ahli Parlimen Muar, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman berkemungkinan memiliki tempoh singkat memegang jawatan berkenaan. Kes penyelewengan dana parti melibatkan Syed Saddiq masih dalam proses rayuan. Dalam tempoh dua minggu pertama April, dua pemimpin parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (MUDA) Sabah keluar dari parti berkenaan. Pengerusi MUDA Sabah, Amos Thien Tze Tin meninggalkan parti berkenaan untuk menyertai DAP.
